📑 Taxes in Economic Stability ✍
“Give Someone the Benefit of the Doubt”
There was a flurry of shouting sounds outside one of the government offices was the tax services office.
In a loud voice, a familiar man is called ‘Bang Bim’ Shouting with the ‘TOA’ in his hands "Why are we paying taxes? If it’s gonna be corrupted?!"
"Right!! Don't pay taxes!" Others exclaimed in their voices.
With a quick security measure to secure a way for these anarchists and disorderly demonstrations, they fired tear gas so that the assembled could disperse immediately.
But before Bang Bim took his feet and turned around to disperse with the others, he suddenly drifted into the air, unnoticed by the human horde that passed by.
Amid his confusion, a bee flew toward him.
"Hello Bim Bang..." His saying was friendly.
"W-why do you speak? My name is Bang Bim, not Bim Bang! Who are you?!" Said Bang Bim in confusion upon seeing a yellow bee that could speak.
"Hahaha, you're clearly indecisive. Introducing me, I’m Kojib. You can't be so confused. Come on, let me fly you around first..." The Kojib flies like a tour guide, ready to guide the road of Bang Bim.
Bang Bim, who was so confused about his situation, decided to follow it.
In the midst of their flight, they saw a fatal accident that almost killed dead riders on a broken street.
"My goodness! What happened to her? We have to help her..." Utter Bang Bim in surprise.
"They can't see you. But, do you know what? Why did this accident happen?" Ask Kojib.
"Of course, because of the ruined roads. That even the current of transportation was disrupted, which could lead to accident hazards." Answer Bang Bim firmly.
"Bad road, huh? Then if the road breaks, who's responsible for fixing it? You?" Ask Kojib again.
"You're crazy! The county, of course, went through their tax returns.” He answered resentfully.
"Where did the taxes come from?" Ask Kojib again.
"From the citizens itself!" He snapped loudly.
"Aren't you the people of this country?" This time the Kojib question really hit Bang Bim's heart. The silence left him, but he was still a little unresponsive when Kojib posed the question.
They flew back, and this time they saw three small children who should still be in school, now offering small snacks that they sold to motorists on the street who seemed totally uninterested. In skinny condition, dismay clothes, and their small arms and legs, they made a living selling their goods just to survive. Let alone go to school, they can barely eat.
Bang Bim, who looked at them, felt pity, and again wanted to help them.
"You want to help them?" Ask Kojib as same as him was staring down the street at the 3 kids.
Bang Bim nodded, saying, "they should go to school, not like this. Can't governments help them to provide relief funds to underprivileged children?"
"Yes, you're right. The government can help them. But if people don't want to pay taxes, how can the government set up a budget to provide poor kids with tuition? And how can a school help them if the school itself is denied government aid?"
Bang Bim fell silent once again.
To some extent, he began to know why he was in such a confused position.
"Look at the traffic jam now. - Why? As people choose to ride their more cost-effective personal vehicles than their expensive public transportation, they are even more expensive in poorly adequate facilities. Who is responsible for this again?" Ask Kojib again.
"But we also don't feel thrifty because of the rising fuel price! So, isn't the government still not contributing to this?" Bang Bim tried to fight it.
"It's different if people are tax abiding. The government will provide good, comfortable, affordable public transport facilities. So people have the better option of using public transportation only, so the risk of congestion is minimal. The fuel used by drivers is not fast exhausted because of congestion, and fuel prices can also be subsidized. All of this happens when people are truly obedient to paying tax returns.” Definitely Kojib.
"Even the cost of basic necessities can go down if we obey the law, right?" Ask Bang Bim again.
"Yeah, that’s right! It’s because taxes serve as stability. Where with taxes, governments can have funds to implement policies related to price stability. This keeps inflation under control and the economy stable." His explanation that made Bang Bim nodded in his ear.
"So you bring me this way, to show that if obedient citizens pay their taxes, then the government can also serve its purpose to benefit us of infrastructure and public facilities, educational facilities, health and security and order. Is it?" Ask Bang Bim to make sure.
"Yes, I'd say that's convenient." Kojib responded happily because Bang Bim had begun to understand the purpose of their tour now.
"But that can happen if the tax government is honest and commissioned. How about corruption? Don't we pay taxes just to benefit them?” This time, Bang Bim seems firm in his questions.
"Bim Bang, learn not to generalize everyone. If corruption occurs, it is the work of only an irresponsible person and the punishment is guaranteed. But why don't you review our current trip, if you still insist on inviting people not to have to pay taxes. Then all the unfortunate things that happened to the community earlier, will still happen and could even be worse than now because the state does not have the resources and efforts to prosper its people. But if we want to downsize our own ego and we act willingly to pay together taxes for the benefit of the country and its people, then this one contribution can help hundreds of millions of people in the country, and we can help the country's economic stability. Isn't it better that way? We don't need to concern ourselves with one useless man who has corrupted people's money. What we need to fight for is the welfare of our people by helping the state, one of which is by paying tax incentives.” Now the bee says it with positive confidence to Bang Bim.
"You're right. All this time I was wrong about my understanding. I put others' faults so bluntly that I ignored the interests of the people who needed my help. Our help..." He answered with regret.
Remember one piece of advice from this John F. Kennedy, my fellow.
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country..." Kojib smiled after saying this and then disappeared in front of Bang Bim.
As Kojib disappears, Bang Bim can feel its body falling free because the pull of gravity pulling it down so hard makes him yell "Aaaaaaaaa.....".
The thud of his voice falling from above his bed made him realize that this was all a dream. But in his dream he learned what taxes really do for the economic stability of a country, and from now on he is determined to do the same as Kojib to give those around him the same understanding of "taxes in economic stability." This is what he can give to his country
